Make a rich dessert the easy way with pecan turtle tarts

Materials

  • 35-40 premade tart shells,
  • 1 cup whole pecans,
  • 2 cups pecan pieces,
  • 1oz sweetened condensed milk,
  • 1c brown sugar,
  • 1c margarine,
  • 4tbsp corn syrup,
  • 1tsp vanilla,
  • 35-40 chocolate wafers

  • measuring cups,
  • measuring spoons

In a saucepan, melt the cup of margarine on a low heat.

Once the margarine is fully melted, add the brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk, corn syrup and vanilla. Bring to a boil, whisking occasionally for 2 minutes. Take off heat or turn the heat to low.

After the shells are baked, fill the bottoms with pecan pieces. Place a chocolate wafer on top of the pecan pieces.

Put a whole pecan on top of each tart and let cool. You can store these in the freezer, but they are tastiest when served at room temperature. Enjoy!
